I was very happy to be involved with this album, my first with Aynsley Lister recorded shortly after joining the band in 2012. Co-produced by Aynsley and long-time friend of the band, drummer and producer Wayne Proctor and recorded by Andy Banfield of Superfly Studios in Ollerton, Notts, the sound of the album is a mix of classic rock and blues with a soulful modern songwriter feel.
I was particularly happy with the tone of my bass guitars on this recording. I used my ’69 Fender Precision, Lakland Joe Osborn Jazz Bass and my old 1963 Harmony H22 Hollowbody (oh, and double bass for one song).
It’s an easy musical hook-up between Wayne and I thanks to the many years of playing together with songwriter/guitarist Ian Parker and the many recordings we’ve done with various artists as a rhythm section over the years.
